6. Account Deletion and Data Removal
6.1 How to Delete Your Account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from within the app by following these steps:
- Open the Mishkat Al-Hoda app on your device
- Navigate to Settings (usually represented by a gear icon)
- Select Account Settings or Profile
- Tap on "Delete Account" button
- Read the warning message carefully
- Enter your password for verification (if applicable)
- Confirm your decision to permanently delete the account
6.2 What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you delete your account through the app:
- All personal data is permanently deleted from our servers
- Your progress data (Quran reading, prayer tracking) is removed
- Your account preferences and settings are erased
- Any active subscriptions are automatically cancelled
- You will not be charged for any future billing cycles
- No refunds will be issued for the current billing period
- You will be immediately logged out of the app
- All app data associated with your account is removed
6.3 Subscription Cancellation Policy
If you have an active subscription:
- Automatic Cancellation: Deleting your account through the app automatically cancels any active subscription
- Separate Cancellation: If you only want to cancel subscription without deleting account:
- For iOS users: Cancel through App Store settings
- For Android users: Cancel through Google Play Store
- Or use the in-app subscription management section
- Refund Policy: No refunds are provided for the current billing period after cancellation
- Access Duration: You retain access to premium features until the end of the current billing period
6.4 Data Retention After Deletion
After account deletion:
- All personal data is removed from our active databases within 24 hours
- Complete deletion from backup systems occurs within 30 days
- Anonymous, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes
- Legal/regulatory required data may be retained as necessary by law
- Subscription billing records are retained as required by financial regulations
